Spring Has Sprung
Spring has sprung so events are popping up everywhere – – –
•Did you see B.R.A.G. come into Jasper County?
Bicycle Ride Across Georgia rode through Jasper on Sunday, April 6 finishing the third day of the Spring Warm Up with a possible 200 miles of total scenic touring. Your Chamber Director and husband managed the BRAG rest stop in Shady Dale for the energetic riders.
•Lunch ‘n Learn this Friday, April 11 at the Visitors’ Center:
Learn about Chamber member “The Sign Guy” at noon. James Mack will be speaking on his multi-faceted business and offering insight into sign design.
Check out his window display at the Visitor’s Center!
•Speaking of window display – Oxford Heating and Air, Inc. is the other display in the entrance into the Visitor’s Center. May 2 will be the official ribbon cutting for this new Jasper County business. Join us as we celebrate the Grand Opening!
•Community Easter Sunrise Service on the Monticello Square April 20!
Join us to celebrate Resurrection Sunday with community leaders and local students at 7 a.m. – sunrise. The service will be held in the Visitors’ Center if inclement weather.
•48th Annual Deer Festival will be Saturday, November 1 and the Festival and Deer Dash T-shirt logo contest is On! Check out the website for an application or stop by the Chamber – contest is open to middle and high school students only. Deadline for your artwork is April 28!
•Annual Spring Golf Tournament at Hunter Pope Country Club, Wednesday, May 7.
Chamber members and friends come together for a relaxing afternoon of golf at this beautiful 18 hole course. The annual tournament includes a full meal plus fun and prizes with surprise additions this year!
•Market on the Square begins Saturday, May 10, at 8 a.m.!
This annual small town festival brings local farmers and crafters together at the historic Monticello Square to display and sell their homegrown/handmade items.
This year the Market will be joined by “Spring Fling” on the square as well!
Many small businesses in the county will be have a booth on the opposite side of the square from The Market. These additional vendors will add to the “kickoff” day for our local market.
