HOSA Team Heads to Nationals

Jasper County High School (JCHS) placed second in the Public Service Announcement (PSA) competition at the HOSA State Leadership Conference in Athens last weekend, earning Gracie Cummings, Taylor Edwards, Kellie Evans, Zeb O’Kelley and Seth Pettis an invitation to attend the HOSA National Competition in Orlando, Fla, in June.

Over 3,400 members, advisers and guests participated in the Athens’ Classic Center event, which included educational symposiums, conference exhibitors and workshops.

Fourteen students from JCHS attended the competition. Casey Elias and Shelby Wilkins competed in Nursing Assisting; DeAndre Stokes competed in Sports Medicine; Morgan Studdard competed in Medical Math; Samantha Johnson competed in Extemporaneous Poster; Anna Parker competed in Extemporaneous Writing; Felicia Gordon and Meagan Roberts competed in CPR/First Aid; and Briana Boyer competed in Courtesy Corps.

JCHS’ HOSA: Future Health Professionals organization is seeking donations to help send the PSA team to the national competition in Orlando. Donations may be sent to JCHS HOSA c/o Patty Cole to 14477 Highway 11 North, Monticello.
