Love Is In the Air
Love is in the air; after all, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day. Can you remember when you fell in love for the first time?
For me, this past Sunday, 50 years ago, I saw my first love. They were the Beatles performing on the Ed Sullivan Show. No matter the history that followed for them since that Sunday night, their songs still hold a special place in my heart.
Visiting Liverpool, England one year, I wondered how those four guys could have come out of that grayest of gray industrial port town to make that beautiful music.
Last year while visiting New York City, we made a trip to Central Park to Strawberry Fields dedicated to the memory of Beatle, John Lennon. Hundreds of people were there standing around the mosiac with the word, “Imagine” in the center. A lone guitarist sat on a nearby bench playing the haunting melody of John Lennon’s song, “Imagine.” You always remember your first love.
And tomorrow also is a special day for Jasper County as the movie, “Endless Love.” that was filmed here opens.
To the many who wed on Valentine’s Day, Happy Anniversary and to those who were born on that day, Happy Birthday, especially to Tamara.
