While standing in the return line or pondering what to buy with a gift card, you might want to make some wise use of the limited time left in 2013 to think of some 2014 New Years resolutions.

By the time the ink is dry on this Monticello News, a few of our resolutions will be broken. Why not by pass the obvious resolutions that are soon-to-be broken and go for some realistic ones.

According to a government survey, the number one resolution for 2014 is to lose weight. This resolution is better left to some UNreality show.

Learning from the mistakes of 2013 may be just what the doctor ordered when trying to come up with resolutions. For instance, order Christmas gifts now to avoid the rush. Or an easy resolution is to just to have some fun even if it is only a vanilla milkshake or an order of french fries. Food is a comfort some days.
