Shop Small Is Success

Shop Small Business Saturday was a success in Jasper County. Many residents plus out-of-towners shopped in our area businesses as our community rallied to keep revenue dollars local.

As I questioned several store owners about the Saturday totals, they remarked how it was one of the biggest sale days of the year!

Santa Claus was also at the Chamber greeting families while taking pictures with excited children and creating joy to kick off the Christmas season.

Thanks to all who participated to help our county stay commerce and community strong!

As we look forward to 2014, mark your calendars for the Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014. This year the event will be held at the newly renovated Thomas Persons Hall in Monticello. During this meeting is the announcement of the 2013 Citizen of the Year. Applications will be available this week at the Chamber.
