Tax Deadline and Prom
Dreaded April 15th is right around the corner.
Let’s digress and think of a simpler time in our life when we were preparing for our big night, no, not when you rush to the post office writing a check on the steering wheel trying to beat the midnight deadline.
No, let’s think of that special, simpler time in our life. A time when your major decisions were THE dress or THE tuxedo to wear to The Prom. Why it seems like only yesterday.
If you are an older model, you thought that big hair, big shoulder pads or lots of ruffles, maybe all three, looked good. The period of dresses and tuxes doesn’t really matter, because years from now when THOSE prom pictures float to the top, it will be painful.
The most horrible part is if your children see THE pictures, yeh, the ones made in front of the magnolia covered trellis, or the big red heart.
They look at you, then the picture, and then you again. Through their stifled laughter, they’ll ask, to add insult to injury, “This is you?” Don’t take it the wrong way! Every generation learns too late that the best way to avoid this future insult is…But by then it is too late and so the story continues.
Hey, juniors and seniors, don’t forget to say thank you to the credit card, I mean your mama and daddy. I hope that Jasper County students had a great time, and Piedmont students have a great time at their proms!
