Cookie Time!

The other afternoon I heard a light tapping at the front door.

When I looked out the peephole, I didn’t see anyone at first then noticed a little girl looking up at me. She was dressed in a green Girl Scout uniform with a sash full of badges.

Her mother and another scout stood at the bottom of the steps as this young salesperson asked me if I would like to buy some Girl Scout cookies.

Of course, I wanted some Thin Mints, my favorite cookie, and a box of Tagalongs. She then gave me her best sales pitch, “If you buy three boxes, you get a recipe.” Now you know you always want a new recipe. I ordered an additional box of cookies called Savannah Smiles.

For nearly one hundred years, Girl Scouts have been selling cookies to help pay for their troop expenses. If a Girl Scout does not show up at your house, office or at a store, you can go online to www.girlscouts.org to find out how to buy them.

I am sure many of you readers were once a Brownie or Girl Scout, show your support for this wonderful organization, buy some cookies!
