Time
After the Deer Festival last Saturday, many went home to take a nap so they could get up at 2 a.m. to change their clocks to fall back to the normal time. What is the normal time?
Rumor has it that Ben Franklin, “Early to bed, early to rise, makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise,” originally thought up Daylight Saving Time, but he was unable to find anyone interested. The United States did not get around to DST until after World War I.
Once years ago I was in Las Vegas which was on DST in one time zone, then drove to Utah which was on another time zone and ended the day on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon which was not on DST or in the same time zone as the other two states. Sound confusing, yes? Arizona and Hawaii still do not get in on the DST fun.
Daylight Saving Time is definitely a joy for Early Birds, but Night Owls are the only ones who really follow directions and change their clocks at 2 a.m.
