Cats Are Mysterious Animals
Cats are mysterious animals for sure, and there are those of us who love them, maybe you’re on the fence about that subject.
Our cat, maybe she is our cat now, appeared one day in the shadow of the woods, finally trusting us enough to come on the porch and lap up a bowl of milk we left her.
Soon, she had a name, Cleopatra, then her own bowl, then a little house with warm bedding. After many years of residence with us, she still doesn’t want to come in the house preferring to perch on top of my husbands’ rag top Corvette.
From this vintage point, she can spot a slow chipmunk and pounce. Her prey provides her with endless hours of fun before she has no qualms about eating said prey.
Most newspaper offices have some news hounds, but at the Monticello News we have the news cats, Typo and Mine. Although the office is not open 24/7, the news cats are always on the job relaxing with their feet up on the desk waiting for the scoop. They acquired this habit by observing the staff.
Don’t ever get the idea that you actually own a cat,on the contrary, they own you.
Comedian Bill Dana said, “I had been told that the training procedure with cats was difficult. It’s not. Mine had me trained in two days.” MEOW!
