Rain

You can almost set your watch to the rain storms we have been having for the past couple of weeks in the afternoon.

When I worked in Atlanta, we called the afternoon rains, “Rush Hour Rains” and the traffic would become a creeping mess.

Of course, we need the rain. Lawns were beginning to look like hay bales.

Nothing makes the grass greener or the garden healthier than rain.

Ping, ping ping pong, you lucky people that have the metal roofs get to enjoy those sounds. The rest of us hear the sounds of rain on the roof vents. We’re jealous.

After a downpour in this heat, the steam rises from the road. Then, the sweet smell of rain drifts in and what a refreshing, fresh smell that is.

Happy Dog Days of Summer, Monticello!
