The Mathematics of Eating a Healthy Dinner

First, use a plate that is no more than eight inches in diameter; like a salad plate. The larger the plate, the more food you will mound on it.

Now, divide the plate into fourths. Reserve two-fourths, or one-half for fruits and vegetables. The other two-fourths should be shared equally between carbohydrates and proteins.

Next, eat very slowly taking the time to chew each bite. Stay seated for at least 20 minutes. When you are finished, stop. Do not go back immediately for a second helping; wait at least 30 more minutes.

If you are still hungry have a little more of the fruits and vegetables. If you are still craving dessert, eat it. However, make the serving half of what you would normally eat. A small sliver of pie, one scoop of ice-cream or a half of a brownie will probably satisfy whatever sweet craving you are having.

Try to be finished with dinner and dessert by 7:30 p.m.. After that, only allow yourself hot tea or water.

The sum of ½ of a plate fruits and vegetables + ¼ of a plate carbohydrates and ¼ of a plate meat + a small dessert portion = strong will power, a satisfied stomach and an exponential amount of health and happiness.
