Tree House Finalization and Contributions

Well, now that my horrible case of poison Sumac has begun to dry up, I think we will get back to the Tree House project that has been so patiently awaiting our return. Have you ever had this poison stuff? Man….just…I…how…but…it… never mind. I think you get the picture.

With the coming of the holiday season, we are bracing for the obvious; and within the ever-growing anticipation of Thanksgiving and Christmas, we are also excited about finishing the castle in the sky.

I do wonder if there is anyway to finish this thing and declare it the “Whole Family Christmas Present.” Wouldn’t that be great?
C’mon, can’t you just see the huge red bow stretched across the front of the Tree House.

Can’t you picture the sweet little children running outside on Christmas morning in their socks and pj’s, just freezing their little butts off as they sprint towards the woods with smiles on their faces; just cheering and singing praises to their Dad for all of his greatness.

Mom comes up to him with such love and gratitude, holding a hot cup of coffee, and as she hands him the coffee as she declares her love and respect to him as the greatest father in the world! Oh yes people…the power of the Christmas morning, its one gift for the whole family, dad is the most awesomeness, Tree House present of love!

Yeah, so, anyway, we are going to get back to the building of our Tree House so that we can have it completed before the bulk of the holidays hit us too hard.

We are getting ready to install the floor over top of the support system that we have finished. Next, we will build the walls around the floor area. This is when it gets pretty exciting because at this point, the children can begin climbing up into the Tree House without worrying about falling out.

After we get the walling up, we will begin to install the fun elements.

They will consist of some swings, rope ladders, balance beams to other trees, a platform to be built higher in the tree as a look out (this was part of the negotiation process with the man child who wanted the tree house 65 feet in the air…he gets a look out tower). After that, who knows!

One thing we will not build is a roofing system. The main reason for that, is because the last Tree House/ building on stilts/ Victorian cottage/castle in the sky thing, that I built at our last house was never finished; and still to this day is awaiting its finished roof.

So Christian figured that it would just be best to design a Tree House that did not require a roof; you know…to avoid any unrealistic expectations!

We will have a video on this project posted this week on our YouTube channel. Go to YouTube and type in “jasontcam tree house,” and you can watch our first video posting.

It will be a lot of fun, and will give you guys a chance to share in this project with us.

Also, if you have any suggestions on design, or if you have any creative ideas for our tree house, please e-mail them to us at jasontcam@bellsouth.net.

You can also send us pictures if you wish. Until next week…c-ya!
