Glen Carter Wins Peach Bowl Tickets

Glen Carter, avid football fan and long-time player in The Monticello News football contest was excited to learn he won the grand prize—four tickets to the Peach Bowl in Altanta on Saturday, Dec. 30 when the Georgia Bulldogs take on Virginia Tech at the Georgia Dome.

The prize pack also included four tickets to the fanfest before the game and four souvenir pins.

Kathy Mudd, editor of The Monticello News, presented the prize to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter plays the contest regularly and frequently compares notes with his uncle, “Pop” Smith who had four opportunities to win the contest. Mr. Carter’s name was in the hat twice.

The Gaston family had the most opportunities—nine between husband and wife, but Mr. Carter emerged victorious. Nancy Wood of the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce drew the winning name late Monday afternoon, and Mr. Carter picked up his prize Tuesday morning.
