Transportation Study Planned
TENNILLE—The Georgia Department of Transportation announces that Jasper County, in association with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), will be conducting a Public Involvement Workshop on Monday, November 13, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Monticello City Hall, 123 W. Washington St., Monticello.
The purpose of this meeting is to gather public input on transportation needs and deficiencies concerning Jasper County. This meeting is a key component of the East Georgia Multi-County Transportation Study, which will address transportation needs through the year 2030.
The study is being developed to identify solutions to provide a safe and efficient transportation system that meets all of the county’s mobility needs. Public input is needed and has a significant role in the development of this study.
During this meeting, the DOT will discuss the study purpose, study schedule, summarize operating conditions along key roads and seek public input related to the existing and future transportation system.
Study information and plans will be on display. Representatives from Jasper County, GDOT, as well as other project team members will be on hand to discuss the project, answer questions and listen to recommendations. Everyone is encouraged to attend this public information meeting.
Each person’s participation is important and Jasper County and GDOT want to be aware of any questions or recommendations.
For additional information on the study, or to be added to the project mailing list, contact Daryl Cranford, Georgia Department of Transportation, by phone at 404-656-5360, or by e-mail at daryl.cranford@dot.state.ga.us.
