See You On The Square
The exciting activities on the Square last Saturday was a wonderful way to end the season for our Market Festival on the Square. For the second year, Piedmont Academy held its Fall Festival celebration in conjunction with the closing of the Market.
Judging by the large crowds and happy faces, it was again successful and a good time was had by all.
For those of you who missed the Fall Festival, you missed a great treat—music by The Little Kings featuring our very own hospital CEO, David Owens, who along with his partner really rocked the Square.
A big highlight was the presentation of the “big check” from Stone Workman of USDA for the $99,000 grant the Market Festival received to continue operation for the next two years.
David Dyer, our Market Director has done a superb job in organizing and running the Market and many thanks go to Preston Wynens and the Market staff for all their hard work, and to the vendors for their participation.
A huge thank you also goes to all the musical entertainment that wowed us each Saturday.
By the time you read this we will have had our annual Halloween celebration—Haunticello.
Many thanks to our corporate sponsors: McIntosh State Bank, the Chamber of Commerce, the Bank of Monticello, Hooper Trailer Sales, Family Dollar Stores, Century 21 Heartland Realty, Dollar General, Dexter Axle, and Joyce McDonald Realty.
Thanks to the volunteers, the merchants on the Square, the Monticello Police Department and the Jasper County Sheriff’s office.
This Saturday, November 4, is the 40th anniversary of the Deer Festival….See You on the Square.
