Flu Shots Not Yet Available
Jasper residents expecting to get flu shots from the county Health Department will have to wait a while longer.
The vaccine was supposed to be delivered to Jasper and other county departments in 13-county Middle Georgia District of the State Department of Community Health in October, but it appears it will now be November, said Jennifer Jones, spokesperson at the district headquarters in Macon.
The distributor anticipates that some vaccine will be available in early November, but that the 50,000 doses ordered by the division probably will be doled our to local departments through November and possibly into December.
Some districts that did not order from the distributor Caligor have received vaccine, as have many private physicians and other health service providers.
Ms. Jones and officials at the local department said the public would be notified as soon as vaccine is available.
