Dorothy McElheney Is Employee of the Year

Dorothy McElheney has been named 2005 Employee of the Year for the Monticello location of McIntosh State Bank.

Nominated by her fellow employees, Mrs. McElheney has been a familiar face in the local bank since 1969 when she joined the small staff of the Farmers National Bank. She has worked as a bookkeeper, loan payment processor, teller and currently serves as assistant banking officer and head teller.

Because of her dedication to the bank, her friendly personality, caring disposition, and quality customer service, she is a favorite of customers and employees alike.

Born in Aiken, S.C., Mrs. McElheney grew up in Washington, Ga. After graduation from Washington-Wilkes High School, she attended Bolden Business School in Augusta. When she married Marion McElheney, they made their home in Monticello.

They have two children, Janet and James, and two grandchildren, who, she says, are the joy of her life. Mr. and Mrs. McElheney attend Bethel Baptist Church.
