From the Preacher’s Desk

God is our Creator. We are created in the image of God (see Genesis 1:26,27). When God had finished the creation of all in the heavens and the earth, including Adam and Eve, He looked at all that He had made and saw that it was “very good.” The was the sixth day of creation.
When God began creation, time began. God created light and called it day. The darkness He called night. The evening of darkness and the morning with its light was the first day. Then follows the creation of all in the heavens and the earth, including Adam and Eve, in six days.
Those days were days of a 24-hour period, just as we have still today, marked by the rising and setting of the sun. Each day in the record in Genesis closes with the words, “the evening and the morning were the __ day, from the first to the sixth, as we see in verses 3-31. All was finished in what God called six days of evening and morning, darkness and light.

When the creatures were created in the waters, the air and on dry land, God said of each, “Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its “kind.” And so the laws of reproduction were set in motion for each kind of creature as it was created.
Those laws of reproduction were set in order “in the beginning,” with the creation of the first of each kind and those laws of reproduction continue today.
No kind of creature either in the waters, the air or on dry land ever produced any other than another of its own kind. A fish produced a fish, a bird a bird, and so with the cattle, the beasts and the creeping things.
No fish has ever produced a bird, a bird cattle or cattle a beast or a beast a creeping thing, or anything other than another of its own kind. God tells us how things were reproduced, by producing another of its own kind.
God not only created man in His own image but also gave him a soul. How man was to be reproduced is the same as with other creatures of the earth and sky. Each of God’s creatures were to be fruitful and multiply according to its kind, and it was so with man also.
No man has ever produced a fish, bird, cattle, beast or creeping thing and no fish, bird, cattle, beast or creeping thing has ever produced a human being. But no one can pass onto its offspring a soul.
God has given every human being produced a soul. God tells us how man was created in the beginning, how he reproduced and how we come to have a soul.
Would God say these things if they were not so? For what purpose or good are these things denied? When we deny God’s word, we deny that God is God. Jesus tells us that God’s word is truth (John 17:17) and in Numbers 23:19 we are told that God cannot lie.
Let us honor God by accepting His word as truth. Take God at His word. Will you believe God’s word? God will bless you if you will.
