Voter Registration Deadline Near

Next Tuesday, Oct. 11, is the last day for Jasperites to register to vote, and be eligible to vote in the November 8 special election for Probate Judge and the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST).

The election is set for Tuesday, Nov. 8. The deadline to vote would have been Monday, Oct. 10, but since that is a holiday for some (official observation of Columbus Day), the deadline was moved to Tuesday.

Locally, the Post Office will be closed Monday as will both local banks. County government offices will be open Monday, as will Monticello City Hall.
It will be business as usual for most local businesses and retail establishments.
