Jazz Venue Visits Monticello

Penelope Williams will be playing jazz on the Monticello Square beginning at 6 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 30, for the Monticello portion of the Lake Oconee Jazz & Blues Festival.

While Ms. Williams is playing, people will begin lining up for rides in the hot air balloon which will be tethered on the southeast side of the Square.

As part of the festival, Monticello will host a dine-around. People are invited to bring their blankets and chairs and relax on the Square and enjoy food from local vendors or bring their own from home.

Football fans are encouraged to come to town to eat, enjoy the music, and see the balloon before heading to the homecoming football games for Monticello and Piedmont. Others are welcome to stay for the hot air balloon rides which will begin about 7 p.m. and last until about 8:30 p.m.
