Three Warrants Are Taken

Only three warrants were taken in Jasper County Magistrate Court over the last week, and one was a search warrant in connection with a possible murder case.

Authorities got a search warrant to search the property at 11372 Hwy. 142 East in Newborn. The property is a residence of Emory Steve Chandler, 42, who is being held at the Newton County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the December 2 killing of Doyle Coleman, Sr., according to reports.

Mr. Coleman was found dead at about 5 p.m. on December 2, in an apparent murder, and the search for clues to his death has been difficult, according to reports. Authorities received a break in the case that led them to Mr. Chandler, who happens to live in Jasper County.

Mr. Chandler is reportedly an in-law of Mr. Coleman’s.

One of the other warrants taken in Jasper over the last week was for Terrell Stinson who is charged with Violation of the Georgia Controled Substances Act. Mr. Stinson allegedly had a smoking device with cocaine residue.

A warrant was also taken for Richard J. Dalziel who is charged with a felony count of aggravated stalking.
