Click It or Ticket Underway

Officers with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office participated in the statewide “Operation Click It or Ticket” safety initiative during the past week, conducting 64 traffic stops resulting in 45 citations and 29 warnings.

In addition, officers in the department stopped two burglaries in progress. Eddie L. Young, investigator, said people need to be reminded to secure vehicles, 4-wheelers, personal watercraft and the like, to keep them from being stolen. When they are left out in the open it invites trouble.

Some 21 people are expected to die on Georgia roadways between 6 p.m. today, Nov. 26 and midnight, Sunday, Nov. 30.
