Man Injured in Accident

Jimmy Holland of Monticello was still hospitalized yesterday morning after wrecking the 1997 Freightliner truck he was driving last Thursday.

Mr. Holland was driving south on Hwy. 83 south of Monticello when he lost control of the vehicle. The unloaded flatbed truck careened off the road and came to rest against a tree.

Mr. Holland was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. He remained in the intensive care unit there Wednesday morning, but was listed in good condition. A hospital spokesman said she expected him to be moved to a regular room Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic was snarled on the road for some five hours Thursday as, first, rescuers worked on Mr. Holland, then work began on retrieving the truck and trailer which was some distance off the road.
