Two Arrested for Drugs
Investigator Dan Ricks with the Jasper County Sheriff’s Department has arrested two persons and charged them with the manufacture/selling/ distribution of a schedule II drug, and other charges.
The felony charges were taken against Stanley Lemar Freeman and Tracy Michelle Peterson, both listed at a Helen Road address in Covington.

Mr. Freeman is charged with the manufacture/sale/
distribution of schedule II drug—methamphetamine and Lortab, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and financial identity fraud.
On the last charge, Mr. Freeman is accused of obtaining the drivers license and social security number of a deceased person to use as a false identity, and in so doing would enable Mr. Freeman to use said third person’s financial resources.
Ms. Peterson was also charged with the manufacture/sale/distribution of schedule II drugs, felony; and misdemeanor obstruction of an officer.
Charles Steve Thurmond of Monticello is charged with felony aggravated stalking. As of 11 a.m. Wednesday, Mr. Thurmond had not been arrested, but the warrant had been taken.
Timothy Shane West of Long Piney Road, Mansfield, has been charged with open container, Violation of the Georgia Controled Substance Act, driving while license is suspended and simple battery.
