Hospital Continues To Improve
The Jasper Memorial Hospital Board of Directors received much good news at their meeting last Thursday.
The hospital and Retreat are still showing net gains, which is a big turnaround from a year ago. Brian Riddle said having these three doctors in place and clicking really helps, referring to Drs. Shannon Barton, Kenny Blake and Wanes Barsemian.

The board heard a wonderful report that no contract nurses had been needed in the hospital for the last several months. In this day of nursing shortages, everyone agreed that was good news.
Curt Roberts, Chief Executive Office at the hospital said he is still working on getting the CT Scanner. He said it will probably still be four to six weeks before it is here.
They learned that the hospital is developing a web site, which will be accessed at www.jaspermemor-ial hospital.org.
The group voted to join the Hometown Health network. Mr. Roberts explained that network had saved Jasper Memorial $400,000 this year alone, without it being an official member. The membership is $5,000 annually.
Mr. Roberts also reported that when the state re-licensure inspectors came through last month they found no deficiencies. He was very proud of that result.
