School Raises Money for Jeremy ‘Bulldog’ Reese
Sponsors are being sought for the Piedmont Academy Cougars football team benefit lift-a-thon on Monday, Feb. 16, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the school.
The lift-a-thon is in honor of Jeremy “Bulldog” Reese, a senior at Piedmont Academy who is fighting cancer. He has undergone successful surgery, and is facing radiation and interferon treatment.
The family has insurance which will cover most of the medical expense, but the team is trying to raise money for deductibles, co-payments and other expenses, such as travel.

The young man’s father is Randy Reese, minister at Rocky Creek Baptist Church, and his mother, Deanna, is a teacher’s aide at Mansfield Elementary. Jeremy has a sister, Beth, who is a freshman at Piedmont.
In addition to the football team’s lift-a-thon, the school is raffling off a 4-wheeler. One lucky winner will receive a Honda 350 Rancher 4-wheeler when the drawing is held on Friday, March 26, at 2:30 p.m. in the school gym. Three hundred tickets are being sold at a cost of $50 each.
In addition, persons who want to help but choose to do so by just making a donation may direct that donation to the “Bulldog Run.” For more information, contact the school, 468-8818.
