Babbie Mason To Perform in Concert

Babbie Mason, a Christian singer/songwriter, will perform a free concert at Rose Bowl Field on Saturday, May 6, at 7 p.m., compliments of Monticello Baptist Church.

The entire community is invited to attend. Everyone is encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to get an up-close seat at the football field. Bleacher seating will be available, but ground seating will be preferred. Gates open at 6:30 p.m. Families are invited to bring picnic items to enjoy while waiting for the show to start.

If it rains, the concert will be held in the Monticello Baptist Church sanctuary, and it will be first come, first served seating.

For the past two decades Mrs. Mason’s name as become synonymous with Christian music. The preacher’s daughter turned concert artist has captured the hearts of young and old. A dynamic singer and prolific songwriter, Mrs. Mason writes her own songs and powerfully communicates each one, according to the announcement from Monticello Baptist Church.

Her performances have commanded repeat appearances from television to concerts and conferences worldwide. She has performed with such distinguished personalities as Billy Graham, Bill Gaither, and for Presidents Jimmy Carter, Gerald Ford and George Bush. She is a favored guest at the nation’s most prestigious women’s events including those with Kay Arthur, Beth Moore and Women of Faith.

Her songwriting talent is evident as the nation’s most notorious gospel music artists, such as Larnelle Harris, CeCe Winans and the Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir have all recorded her compositions.

Her walls are decorated with a host of awards including two Dove Awards with numerous nominations for The Dove, The Grammy and The Stellar Awards.

A native of Jackson, Mich., the preacher’s daughter received years of on-the-job training as the piano player and music minister in the church where her father was founding pastor. Her singing and songwriting efforts have produced 15 recordings and an abundance of timeless compositions that are embraced by the church worldwide. Powerful lyrics and singable melodies have made Babbie Mason’s songs one of the best loved by choirs and soloists.

Mrs. Mason possesses the gift of encouragement, and seeks to better the lives of others by helping them to realize their God-given potential. She demonstrates this as hostess of Babbie’s House, an upbeat TV-talk show. She hosts an annual music and worship conference, to help mentor up and coming singers and songwriters.

In addition to her multiple music recordings available for sale, Mrs. Mason has also written two books, “Faithlife” and Treasures of Heaven in the Stuff of Earth.” She has a bachelor of arts degree in music education and applied voice from Spring Arbor College in Spring Arbor, Mich.

She and her husband, Charles, have two adult sons and make Georgia their home.
