Monday Is Labor Day

Next Monday, Sept. 4, is Labor Day, and schools, government offices, and many businesses will be closed.

Because of the holiday, The Monticello News has moved its deadlines up one day…so all material for the Thursday, Sept. 7 newspaper needs to be submitted by tomorrow, Sept. 1.

Normally the deadline for all news items and advertising is Monday each week at 5 p.m., that’s why the deadline is Friday this week. The legal deadline remains the same as always—5 p.m. Friday the week before publication.

The Monticello News office will be closed Monday, although staff members will check messages during the day. Items may be dropped through the slot in the front door over the weekend, but for guaranteed placement, please come see us Friday.
