Citizen of the Year Nominees Sought

The Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce and Board of Directors invite the community to once again select our 2006 Citizen of the Year.

To be eligible for consideration of this award, the nominee must reside in Jasper County. Previous winners are not eligible for the Citizen of the Year Award.

Criteria involved in selecting Citizen of the Year is based upon the nominee’s involvement, personal and civic, and with a level of integrity shown to all people through volunteerism, self-motivation, initiative and interactions within the community as a whole.

Nomination forms may be obtained at the Chamber of Commerce office located in the Visitors’ Center at the Monticello Government Complex Building. A brief description outlining why you think your nominee deserves this honor is required on the form.

Deadline for nominations are Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at 5 p.m. Mark your calendars and plan to join us as the 2006 Citizen of the Year will be announced at the Annual Chamber of Commerce Dinner on Thursday, January 18, 2007, commencing once again at the Charlie Elliott Wildlife Center.
