Candidate Forum Planned Monday, October 22

Jasper County Farm Bureau and the Monticello-Jasper County Chamber of Commerce will host a political forum for Monticello City Council candidates on Monday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Jasper County Courthouse.

The public is invited to submit questions to the candidates concerning the upcoming elections for the Mayor, Mayor Pro Tem and City Council seats in all districts.

Questions must be political in nature and serve to reveal the candidate’s platform. No question shall serve to address the personal character of any candidate, nor shall it be addressed to one particular candidate.

Questions may be submitted in person to the Chamber of Commerce office at 119 West Washington Street on the Square, or by mail to P.O. Box 133 or via email to jasperchamber@bellsouth.net.

All questions must be received by 5 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 19. This will allow time to view the questions and organize them in order to provide the public with a timely and well-rounded political forum.

There is a possibility that all of the questions received will not be addressed at the forum due to time constraints.
