Captain Recycle

The City of Monticello’s new recycle trailer had a surprise visit from Captain Recycle Tuesday afternoon. The Captain was here to watch Council member Katherine Alexander (right) and Latasha Robinson, customer service representative with the city add some recyclables from City Hall to the trailer.
The trailer has only been in place for a week and is almost full. The recyclables will be hauled to a regional recycling center in Griffin instead of a landfill. The city is using the “single stream” method of recycling which means all types of plastics, glass, paper, cans, and cardboard can be put in the trailer without separating.
A poster is on the side of the trailer with a full list of all recyclables. The City of Monticello asks that garbage, old carpet, and construction debris not be put in the recycling trailer.
