Curbs and Intersections

With red lights at intersections lasting around three minutes, you have plenty of time to notice what is going on around you and also to discover what people have left behind at the intersection.

I started making a list of the stuff I saw left at intersections on my recent trip from Monticello to Stockbridge.

Number one on the list is cigarette butts. Now I am not sure if they just finish up their cigarette during the wait or if they take an opportunity to empty their ash trays.

Besides the numerous cigarette butts were batteries, lots of batteries, beer bottle caps, a fan belt, a couple of broken cd’s, a tee shirt, two pennies, a flat cola can, and one shoe.
Why is there always only one shoe?

And don’t bother watching to see when the light turns green, somebody behind you will let you know. I lived in Dekalb County long enough to know to count to 10 after the light turns green before pulling into the intersection.

Happy Motoring! And Happy 21st Birthday to my kid, Ed.
