Internet Fantasy League

FYI-Some statistics est. 50 million people in the USA playing fantasy sports on the internet each day. That’s about 1 N 6 of us.

So about 2,000 of us in Jasper Co. could be playing right now.
Somewhere out there in internetland someone developed this game, pts. for this, pts. for that, imaginary bowl games, fantasy players in Sweden competing against someone sitting right here in Jasper Co., both trying to put together the players needed to win.WOW

But then TRBL hit this past Fri. in our ‘hood, internet DOA. Our internet provider said it was an “unplanned outage”. 🙁 So sad
Families were forced to talk to each other instead of sending emails from room to room. How cold is it outside? How will we know? NO ‘NET. Oh, it was not pretty especially for the fantasy sports folks. NLOL

The internet was restored on Mon. PM just in time for the fantasy sports folks to get in their “picks” for Mon. Nite Football. 🙂 Happy Now

Years ago, football started on television as a Sunday afternoon diversion, now it is all day, everyday except Tuesday and Wednesday and sometimes Friday. Think of all the people involved in this game and it is in the millions, players, coaches, trainers, stadium workers, vendors, parking, fans, cheerleaders, endless.

In doing some high-brow research for this column, I found yet another disappointing fact, footballs are no longer made from pig skin. Can you hear the play-by-play announcer, “now the center reaches for the leather hide ball and hikes it to the quarterback…”

Somehow that just doesn’t sound right.
