All In” for Jesus

This week was supposed to be Cheryl’s week to write but she has been very busy packing up the house and has totally worn herself out.

I offered to do the column for her and she was very grateful. So I apologize to all of you who were hoping to hear from Cheryl this week, and I will try to do a good job!

I have to ask us all a very important question…are we “All In” for Jesus? Seriously…are we completely devoted to our Lord and Savior?
If you are reading this, and you are not a believer, stay with me here for a minute; you may read something that will bring you some joy and strength, and hopefully, draw you closer to Jesus Christ. Once again…are we “All In?”—

Now there is one thing I have learned after growing up in the church practically my whole life.

There are basically two types of believers; those who think they are all in, and those who are actually striving to be…these two groups are very different from each other.

How can you tell where believers stand? Just look at their love, at their joy, at their peace and patience; listen to the words of their mouth and watch how they treat people. It really is pretty simple—really.

I fear that we have spent so much time trying to be like the churches that we have forgotten to be like Jesus Christ.

If I am stepping on your toes here just relax…because I am stepping on mine as well. We all need to hear this. There should be absolutely no limits to what we are willing to do in order to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with our community.

There should be nothing in our lives that is as valuable to us as our relationship with Jesus, and our ability to lead others into a relationship with Him. There is not one person out there in Jasper County that should have to contend with our prejudices, fear, agendas, hatred, and greed. We should be “All In” for Jesus and it should govern everything we do.

I was having a conversation the other day with a dear friend of mine and she shared with me that some people around her had the opinion that Christians were hypocrites and did not really believe what they claimed.

Although this is difficult to hear…it is important to heed and to make some personal behavior adjustments! What are our actions saying to others? Right now…as you sit there…is there anyone in your life that you are at odds with? Is there anyone that you have stopped talking to because of personal reasons?

Well, take care of it! Call them up and ask forgiveness; go to their house and resolve the issue because that’s what love does. The book of Corinthians states that love never fails. Love never fails. Love never fails. Love never fails! Do you get it?
If you are “All In” for Jesus, then in your life, no matter what the situation or offence, the love inside of you cannot and will not fail…ever!

I am calling forth the believers from all over this county. I am challenging you today to stand and to be counted for Jesus Christ.
I am asking you to remember the very moment that you received your salvation through your profession of faith in Jesus, and how absolutely free and loved you felt in that moment.

Now…go out into our community today and make it a point of behavior that every one you come into contact with will leave your presence feeling that same measure of love from you. For it is written: 1 John 4:19-21 19.

We love Him[a] because He first loved us. 20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can [b] he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
