Blake McMichael Is Honored at UGA

Blake McMichael, of Monticello, was recognized at the Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources’ 2011 Spring Awards Banquet on April 14.
Mr. McMichael, who is the son of Robert and Sarah McMichael of Monticello was inducted into the honor society AGHON, was named the Outstanding Senior in Forestry and also inducted into Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources, founded in 1906, is the oldest such school in the South. It prepares leaders in the conservation and sustainable management of forests and other renewable natural resources.
Located on the University of Georgia’s south campus, the Warnell School has nearly 300 students in four majors learning to use the latest ideas and technology for real-world applications.
Every year, the Warnell School awards more than $100,000 in scholarships to help students pay for their education.
Here Mr. McMichael holds the ax he won for being named the Outstanding Senior in Forestry by the Warnell School.
