Overnight Visitors
Having overnight visitors can have great rewards. You get to catch up on the news or gossip, reminisce (which depends on how long you have known each other), fix some good food or go out to eat, look at old pictures and try to figure out who they are and if they are even kin to you, and you seem to always want to clean up the house.
My house is usually cleaned down, not up.
Yes, we live day to day as the stuff gathers on the table which used to be for eating.
The guest room usually becomes the depository for things. Oh, you meant to put that stuff somewhere, but then you were either too hot, too tired or you could just shut the door.
When guests come to visit these days, most don’t wear white gloves anymore. I am not sure who gave this advice, but it has served me well over the years, 20 watt bulbs in the lamps. With the new light bulbs, you can hardly choke 20 watts of light out of them anyway.
I still believe in the three day rule of visiting someone for myself anyway.
After three days, fish and house guests stink.
Well, gotta go finish hiding all that stuff that is on top of the bed in the guest room and put on my apron.
