8th Annual Mutt Show

Hope to see all you dog lovers on the Square at the 8th Annual Mutt Show this Saturday, October 1, sponsored by the Jasper County Humane Society.

I am sure there is going to be a wide variety of dogs strutting their stuff from the teacup poodle to the Great Dane to what is called The Mutt.

Just what is a mutt anyway? According to the dictionary, it is a dog with an uncertain ancestry. Uncertain ancestry that reminds me of our family tree and maybe yours too.

You know we all have an Uncle Eddie, Lord, knows where he is now.

Last year there were some talented dogs on the obstacle course, jumping over barrels, weaving in and out of cones. Showoffs.

Some dogs shined in other areas such as wearing costumes, I think the winner of that category wore a pretty pink ballerina frock.

Each dog owner knows his or her dogs’ strengths and weaknesses and vice versa.

My dog, Boo, sure knows me. We both have weaknesses for the treats, and our strength is love for each other.
