Until the Next Day in Our Lives…

Writing for this newspaper has been one of the joys in my life.

For the last three years, Kathy [Mudd] has given me the opportunity to share with you the little moments of magic that occurred in our home.

You have been most kind and responsive to me in regards to the stories I have shared, and I am overjoyed that while reading this column, you have been challenged to seek out the precious moments that you share with your own family. As for now, I step into a new season in my life.

I will be taking a training course at Piedmont Henry Medical Center for the next 20 weeks. This training will be very taxing on me, as well as on the family, and requires a great deal of reading time as well as many writing assignments.

Because of this, I will not have the time needed to continue writing this piece every week.

However, If something really cool happens during the week in the house, if the children do something extra cute and silly, or if Lindsey eats some ice cream and completely freaks out…I may have to take a minute and write to you about it!

After three years it is going to be difficult to step away from this column…but it is necessary for now. I am sorry…and I love all of you who have been faithful readers!

Please rest assured that when it is possible, I will return to “A Day In The Life” and continue to share our family stories with you, our readers.

In the meantime, I will be working on my new book, “A Day In The Life…One Man, One Woman, Six Children…HELP!” So be watching for its release!

This will be a collection of all of our stories from the last three years. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be shocked, and amazed! You will also be able to reminisce about your own family stories as you read about ours. You can reserve your copy, autographed by all of the children, by e-mailing me at jasontcam@bellsouth.net.

As we are away, I would like to issue you a challenge! Take the time to watch your kids. Be aware of all the little funny moments that happen around your house. Become a spectator of your family, your friends, your spouse, and even yourself.

In the moment that something magical happens…write it down. Write it down and share that moment with someone else. Let your children read the story and catch a glimpse of themselves from your perspective.

I promise…this will add value to your days, richen your family, and bring everyone great joy. I love you all…and until the next day in our lives…

Jason, father of six
