Eat All You Can?

I remember when I first got married and my husband would try to convince me to patronize the “all you can eat” restaurants.

It only took a few miserable stomach aches and some unwanted pounds to realize this was not a good idea.

When is it a good idea to eat all you can? You should eat all you can if you have been fasting for 10 or more days either voluntarily or otherwise. You should eat all you can if you have entered some type of eating contest.

You should eat all you can if you have been lost on a stranded island for months living off pineapple and coconut milk.

Sometimes eating until you can’t eat anymore is appropriate for temporary bouts of mental, emotional or hormonal trauma. Permission granted for one meal only.

Lastly, persons under the age of 20 on a budget, with hummingbird metabolisms can also enjoy eating until sick without worry or guilt.
