Several New Teachers Begin Work in Jasper County Public Schools

Jasper County schools begin classes tomorrow, August 10 to kick off the 2012-2013 academic school year. As there are each year, there are a number of additions to the faculty, calendar and daily procedures. Those teachers that are new to the system, and or school are pictured above. New teachers at Jasper County High School include (top row, left photo, left to right) Liz Hughes, Spanish. Ms. Hughes attended Georgia College & State University and is from Tifton. Zack Lively is a math teacher. He graduated from Augusta State University in 2005 and is from Augusta.
He will also coach football and baseball. Matt Riden, U.S. History teacher earned his undergraduate degree from UGA in 2007; and his Master’s from Piedmont College in 2010. Mr. Riden is from Madison and will coach football and baseball. Suzanne Arena will also teach high school Spanish. She is a 1990 graduate of North Georgia College and has lived in Monticello since 1974.
New to Jasper County Middle School include (top row, middle photo) Cynthia Theresa Boykin. Ms. Boykin is a paraprofessional and aids in the Program for Exceptional Children (PEC). She attended and graduated from Jasper County schools in 1984. Justin Hamby is a seventh grade science teacher. He earned his associate’s degree from Georgia Perimeter, a bachelor’s from the University of West Georgia, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree from North Georgia College. Alton Standifer is an incoming eighth grade math teacher. He earned his degree from Georgia Southern University and is a native and lifelong resident of Monticello, He will also coach basketball.

Washington Park has two new fourth grade teachers (top row, right photo). Lisa Perry, who earned her Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood/Special Education from Macon State College and Vickie Cardell. Ms. Cardell earned her degree from Mercer University in Macon and resides in Griffin.
New teachers at JCPS include (bottom row, left photo) Diane Law, Kindergarten teacher that earned a BSED in Early Childhood Education and Master’s in Reading Education. She has been teaching for 19 years. Mandie Behling, Media Specialist paraprofessional, earned her Masters in Library Media. She is a lifelong resident of Monticello. Dottie Dalton will work in the media center. Stephanie Hays moves from Washington Park to JCPS as a Kindergarten teacher. She earned her BSED from GC&SU.
Donna Kennedy, a second grade PEC teacher, is in her fourth year teaching. Suzanne Lindsey is a second grade teacher and has been teaching for 26 years.
Tonya Newton is a Pre-K teacher at Jasper County Preschool. She just finished her Master’s in Special Education in July from GC&SU. Angie Jackson is a Pre-K teacher. She earned a dual Bachelor’s in Early Childhood and Special Education from Mercer University.
Courtney Spradlin and Lynn McWaters will both serve as paraprofessionals for Pre-K (bottom row, right photo).
