I’m Fixing to Go On a Cookie Exercise Program
I’m fixing to go on a cookie exercise program.
I discovered this program while I was looking for a short cut to dropping a few pounds, something like a “get slim quick” scheme, similar to a “get rich quick” scheme where you could make a lot of money without investing much effort, capital or hard work and sacrifice.
Except in a “get slim quick” scheme you could lose a lot of weight without all that sweating, grunting and grinding—that’s what I was looking for.
After a great deal of contemplation and some extensive research I had come up with that exact scheme. It was literally right at my front door all the time. I would never have to leave the immediate vicinity of my home to dispose of those unwanted lumps and bulges.
What I had figured out was that I could walk out the door on the east side of my house, walk up the driveway and down the street to my second driveway (some folks have two cars—I have two driveways), continue on down it and around my house via the back deck until I got back to my starting point, and that it took about a minute and a half.
It doesn’t take a great deal of mathematical skill to figure out that if I did that 20 times I would have been walking for about 30 minutes, a good workout for a person of my age and in my condition.
Now that I had a good exercise program in mind to drop a few pounds, I had to figure out a way to keep up with my rotations around my property besides counting them on my fingers. After all I only had 10 fingers and I knew if I counted them more than once I would probably start daydreaming or be distracted by the smell of the ribs on the smoker every time I crossed my deck, and more than likely lose count.
What I decided on was an accurate method of keeping up with my rotations, and I even threw in a rewards system to really make it work. It involved cookies–Girl Scout cookies.
My two favorites were the chocolate covered mint ones and the shortbread ones. I had a box of each left.
What I did was place 10 of each into a baggie and place it on the rail of the deck next to the door I started from. I also placed a cold carton of milk beside them. I mean I didn’t want to dehydrate myself.
It was foolproof. Each time I completed a rotation I would eat a cookie, and when the baggie was empty then I would know I was fixing to drop a few pounds.
