Lady Track ‘Canes Advance to State

The Jasper County High School track team competed in the State AA Track Sectionals at Lamar County High School last weekend.

Those athletes that excelled at region competition and moved on included Janee Chapman, Destiny Glauson, Logan Moore, Arlaycha Stone, Aaliyah Barnes, Paisley Stewart, Meagan Roberts, Tierra Whitlock, Alkelia Ross, and Kamia Thomas

The State Sectionals are qualification events for the State Championship that will be held in Albany, May 9-11.

Janee Chapman qualified for the State Finals in the Long Jump, 100M, 200M, 400M Relay, and 1600M Relay.

Tierra Whitlock will advance in the High Jump, 100M Hurdles, 300M Hurdles, 400M Relay, and 1600M Relay.

Alkelia Ross will compete at state in the 200M, 400M, 400M Relay, and 1600M Realy.

Kamia Thomas will compete in the 300M Hurdles; Logan Moore in the 400M Relay, and 1600M Relay.

Paisely Stewart will compete at state in the Shot Put; Meagan Roberts, Destiny Glawson, and Arlaycha Stone will travel as alternates in the 400M Relay and 1600M Relay, along with Aaliyah Barnes for the 1600M Relay alternate.
