Jasper County High School Graduation Is Complete; Others Are Upcoming

Some 100 students graduated from Jasper County High School on May 5, and another 24 will graduate from Piedmont Academy on Saturday, May 25. In addition, three students graduate from Shiloh Christian Academy this Sunday, May 19, at 4 p.m. at the school.
A special section inside today’s newspaper salutes all of those graduates as well as a number of local college graduates.

Senior awards night was held May 2 at Jasper County High School, and the following awards were presented:

Those recognized and the award(s) are as follows:
Olivia Aldridge, 2013 valedictorian, earned the highest average for Advanced Placement (AP) statistics, economics, AP English literature, and Spanish II. She had the second highest average in literary, band and chemistry.
Amanda Kelly, the 2013 salutatorian for JCHS had the second highest average in AP statistics, and Poetry Out Loud.
MacKenzie Mote-Patterson was awarded the highest average in advanced math/decision making, drawing I, and painting I. She had the second highest average in British literature.
Allison Scroggs had the highest average in environmental science and basic ag science. She was the second highest in computer applications II.
Mikaila Levendusky earned the highest average in AP psychology, zoology, ag mechanics I and ag mechanics II.
Will Wade was named Drama Man of the Year. He also had the highest average in pottery III, and had the second highest average in British literature.
Wyatt Rabon had the highest average for British literature and was second in advanced web design.
Desi Evans was awarded highest average for drama, Poetry Out Loud, and literary.
Danielle Coody was awarded highest average for British literature.
Gabriela Bautista had the highest average in U.S. government and engineering. She also had the second highest in Spanish II.
Matthew Graybill had the highest average in AP European history and the second highest in business presentation and communication.
Julie Bowden took the top spot in forensic science and had the second highest average in economics, AP psychology, and environmental science.
Mike Cantrell had the highest average in drawing II.
Tyler Carter had the highest average in pottery I, and the second highest in drama, and Poetry Out Loud.
Shekenia Thurmond had the highest average in Pottery II.
Angelica Wells had the highest average in art survey, and the second highest in drawing I.
Ashley Dougherty was the top average in computer applications II. She was the second highest in ag mechanics II.
Jemiyah Warren had the highest average in Early Childhood Education, and Chemistry. She was the second highest average in AP English Literature, Poetry Out Loud, and Pottery II.
Amber Burgess had the top average in Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and in Medical Terminology.
Chelsea Kamplain had the highest average in band, and the second highest in literary, and the steel drum ensemble.
Kenny Siebe had the highest average in both the steel drum ensemble and physics.
Jake Jones had the highest average in guitar.
Ke’ausha Warren had the second highest average in advanced math decision making and U.S. government.
Miranda Gotel had the second highest average in forensic science.
Donnie Moore had the second highest average in zoology.
Priscilla Allison had the second highest average in drawing II.
Ashley Wall had the second highest average in painting I, and pottery II.
Aaliyah Barnes had the second highest average for pottery I.
