Memorial Day
Monday, May 27th, is the day that we, all of us, remember our fallen heroes, those who never got to say goodbye, those who gave their lives in defending our freedoms.
In Jasper County, our cemeteries hold the remains of fallen heroes dating back to the American Revolutionary War through the current conflicts.
Show your love for these United States and for those who have given their lives for us by displaying Old Glory and also to remind those who lost these heroes that they are not forgotten.
Monticello’s American Legion will be placing flags on the graves of our local veterans and also markers in front of their Post that represents deceased veterans.
“And I’m proud to be an American, where at least I know I’m free.
And I won’t forget the men who died, who gave that right to me.”
Lee Greenwood
