Probation Violator Sentenced to 180 Days
On July 2, Charlie Lee Victrum was sentenced to 120 days in the county jail to be suspended upon entry into a state probation detention center to serve 180 days.
The action came in Jasper Superior Court with Judge William A. Prior, Jr., presiding.
Mr. Victrum, who was on probation for conviction on the charges of criminal interference with custody and child molestation in June of 2002, was found to have violated his probation on the new charges of not avoiding injurious and vicious habits, failure to report, failure to abide by curfew, failure to pay fines and fees and use of marijuana.
Upon completion of the above mentioned sentence, Mr. Victrum was ordered to be returned to probation supervision as originally imposed.
In two other probation violation cases the following action was taken:

•Andrea F. Barkley, who was on probation for conviction of the charge of forgery in August of 2010, was found to have violated her probation via the new charges of testing positive for use of cocaine and failure to pay court ordered fines and fees.
Ms. Barkley was sentenced to the county jail with a release date not to exceed August 15, 2013, with credit for time served and at the discretion of the sheriff, and upon release probation be terminated.
•Austin Damien Dunlap, who was on probation for conviction of the charges of burglary and possession of marijuana in May of 2012, was found to have violated his probation via the new charge of possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
Mr. Dunlap was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail with credit for time served and upon release to complete out patient drug and treatment and to remain on active probation supervision.
Also, on the Arraignment Calendar the following three defendants pled guilty to the charges as listed and were sentenced as follows:
•William Larry Bolt to the charge of obstruction of an officer—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation, fines of $770 and probation fees of $49 per month.
•Robert Louis Crowe to the charge of obstruction of an officer—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation, fines of $435 and probation fees of $49 per month.
•Michael Arthur Johnson to the charge of reckless conduct—sentenced to 12 months to be served on probation and fines of $570 and probation fees of $49 per month.
A bond hearing was also held for Dean Gordon Duffie, who was being held on the charge of burglary. A bond of $5,000 was granted, with conditions, until the defendant returns to court.
Ricky Sharod Cooper and Teresa Schwartz failed to appear to answer charges and bench warrants were issued for their arrest.
Four cases were continued, while 16 other defendants pled not guilty to varying charges and will be scheduled for trial at a future date unless a plea bargain is reached prior to such date.
In addition, during the past three weeks the Magistrate Court processed the following three cases with details as follows:
•On July 5, Thomas Jake Hawkins pled guilty to disorderly conduct and was sentenced to 12 months probation, a fine of $210, probation fee of $49 per month and restitution of $40.
•On June 28, Shane Griffith was found guilty of criminal trespass and was sentenced to 12 months probation, a fine of $210 and probation fee of $49 per month and 40 hours of community service.
•On June 14, Joseph Wade Smith pled guilty to open burning violation and was fined $50.
