If Only

If only. How many times have you said, IF ONLY? Probably too many times as you read or hear about yet another idea that should have been yours.

Every day as we watch the evening news, you see the police at a crime scene. And no matter what town, you will either see the police using this product or it is already there.

It is the “Do Not Cross Crime” scene bright yellow plastic tape. Thousands of miles, many feet anyway, are rolled out each year. “If only” you had invented that stuff.

Making money is a favorite subject. Don’t you just love to find out “if only” you had bought shares of Walmart or McDonalds when they first appeared, you’d be a gazillionaire now.

Most everyone loves pitted olives with the pimento stuffed in the middle, so handy in many recipes and drinks, hiccup. Just imagine the first person to think that was a good idea and invented a machine to do all that pitting and stuffing instead of by hand. “If only.”

And finally, the first time you saw these things in the grocery store, you thought “if only” I had thought of doing that. How many times have you bought bags of carrot fingers or baby carrots? They don’t grow that way.

The BIG ideas get all the attention, but there are million of little ideas that we use everyday and just take them for granted.
