Arthur Lee McGuire, Sr.
Arthur Lee “I’m Real” McGuire, Sr. of Shady Dale, died Saturday, August 18, 2013 in Social Circle at Abbey Hospice.
Mr. McGuire began his life on May 2, 1948, born to the late Willie Lee McGuire, Sr. and Mrs. Emma Walker McGuire.
He was joined in marriage to Corine Dearro on June 4, 1973. He was employed with William Brothers Lumber Company where he retired from after 30 years of service. After retiring he continued to work tirelessly at numerous other jobs holding many positions.
Mr. McGuire was preceded in death by four brothers, Walker Pennamon, Charlie Lee McGuire, Elijah McGuire and Willie Lee McGuire, Jr., and a sister, Addy Kate Walker.
Survivors include a devoted wife of 40 years, Mrs. Corine McGuire of Shady Dale; a son, Arthur Lee McGuire, Jr., and his wife, Stacy, of Monroe; two daughters, Wynell McGuire Rimmer, and her husband, Rodney, and SaBrina McGuire of Shady Dale; six grandchildren, Rodney, Brandon, and Rashad Rimmer, Kourtnee McGuire, Christopher Harden, SaBreon McGuire; a brother, Curtis McGuire; two sisters, Millie Lynwood of Monticello and Ola Mae Farrar of Shady Dale; a godson, James Clark; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held noon Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at Midway Independent Church, Shady Dale. Pastor Benny Dearro, officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery.
