Georgia State Patrol Reports 11 Arrests
During a road block conducted by the Georgia State Patrol (GSP) on Jackson Lake Road last Friday, Aug. 30, Chad Ervin Lowery, 24, of a Milledgeville address, was arrested after having been found to be driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and to be in possession of methamphetamine, Xanax, an illegal weapon and marijuana.
During the period of August 27 through September 3 the GSP reported the following additional arrests:

•Jacob Lee Holland, 28, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Juanita Williams, 63, Monticello—failure to maintain lane and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Marvin Davis, Jr., 39, Monticello—giving false name or address to law enforcement officer and driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Willie Charles Driskell, 48, Monticello—child support.
•Joseph Jarma-Tishun Standifer, 22, Monticello—driving while unlicensed or with expired license.
•Ryan Lynard Johnson, 42, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Eliazar Jesus Bautista-Cruz, 49, Monticello—no driver’s license.
•Andres Garcia Serna, 43, Shady Dale—no driver’s license.
•Myia Christian McNeal, 19 Covington—driving while license suspended or revoked.
•Stephen Daniel Wiley, 38, Jackson—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Also, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following two recent crime incidents. Anyone with information concerning them or any other criminal activity are encouraged to call the JCSO at 706-468-4912, or use the anonymous tips line at 706-468-JCSO:
•On August 27 a resident on Northeast Street reported the theft of $1,599.
•On August 27 a citizen reported the August 19 theft by pocket-picking of an Apple Ipod Touch.
In addition, during the period of August 27 through September 3 the JCSO reported the following arrests:
•Marcus Lanier Smith, 40, Covington—probation violation.
•Jimmy Lee Watkins, 58, Monticello—driving while license suspended or revoked and failure to maintain lane.
•Michael Paul Stout, 28, Social Circle—probation violation.
•Jeffery Alan Custer, 31, Cumming—probation violation.
•Rodney Andrew Snow, 46, Shady Dale—possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
•Mitchell Garrett Wilbanks, 25, Mansfield—parole violation.
•Chelsie Nicole Christman, 21, Locust Grove—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 184 calls for service including 77 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 20 subject needs officer, 10 each alarm, accident and mechanical breakdown, six trouble unknown, four each pick up prisoner/subject and checking location, three each speeding auto, theft by taking, discharge firearms, music/noise complaint, and threatening/harassing calls, two each assist motorist, escort or convoy, four wheeler, vandalism of property and vgcsa, one each fight, domestic, subject with firearms, intoxicated pedestrian, special detail, mental person, electric shock, miscellaneous ems, child abuse/molestation, welfare check, juvenile complaint, private property, road hazard, trespassing, argument, attempt to serve warrant and 911 hang up.
Also during this period the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
•Antranique Laraan Usher, 25, Covington—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Vincent Kyle Dudley, 22, Monticello—possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
During this period officers with the MPD responded to 69 calls for service including 30 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, four each alarm, subject needs officer and trouble unknown, three each accident and escort or convoy, two each theft by taking and private property, one each assist motorist, courtesy ride, intoxicated driver, shortness of breath, unconscious, laceration, fall, miscellaneous ems, crowd disbursement, assault, assist invalid, juvenile complaint, music/noise complaint, road hazard, argument, sick and persons refuse to leave.
Lastly, during the period mentioned above the Georgia Department of Natural Resources reported the following two arrests:
•Johnathan Cravin Mattison, 28, Anderson, S.C.—towing skier after sunset and boating under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
•Bobby Dean Murray, Jr., 59, Jackson—operating vessel under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
