Little Crime Is Reported during Week
Jasper County was relatively crime-free in the past week, with the sheriff’s office and police department reporting a few arrests, but no major break-ins or other criminal activity.
During the period of September 2-10 the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) reported the following arrests:
Randy Cribbs, 51, Newborn—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane, and tail light violation.
Kenneth Dewayne Stone,Jr., 21, Milledgeville—probation violation.
Junior Munson, 66, Monticello—probation violation.
Jack Wendell Morris, 53, Monticello—possession of a controlled substance (two counts), drugs not kept in original container, driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane, and open container.

Robert Keith Pulliam, 27, Monticello—driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, failure to maintain lane, and driving on the wrong side of the roadway.
Audrey Denise Norwood, 46, Monticello—probation violation and obstruction of officer.
Gregory Lorosco Thurman, 48, Monticello—theft by taking, forgery in the fourth degree, theft by receiving stolen property, possession of cocaine and obstruction of officer.
Terry Durand Brown, 38 Monticello—obstruction or hindering law enforcement officers and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.
During this same period deputies with the JCSO responded to 249 calls for service including 146 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, 19 subject needs officer, 12 alarm, seven mechanical break down, five courtesy ride, four accident, three each assist motorist, pick up prisoner/subject, private property, trouble unknown, music/noise complaint and vandalism of property.
Also, two each burglary, domestic, intoxicated pedestrian, escort or convoy, juvenile complaint, discharge firearms, checking location, argument, abandoned vehicle and identity fraud/theft, one each dog disturbance, speeding auto, livestock on road, hit and run, chase in progress, theft by taking, mental person, unconscious, deliver emergency message, missing person, welfare check, fireworks, threatening/harassing calls, trespassing and attempt to serve warrant.
Also during this period, the Monticello Police Department (MPD) reported the following arrests:
Quincy Terrell Sands, 21, Monticello—burglary and criminal trespass.
Lucious Marcus Odum, 27, Monticello—hold for warrant in Richmond County.
Demarcus Arkell Sands, 18, Monticello—criminal damage to property in the second degree, burglary, simple assault and criminal trespass.
During this same period officers with the MPD responded to 81 calls for service including 30 stopping suspicious person/vehicle, six subject needs officer, five each escort or convoy and music/noise complaint, three each alarm, domestic, accident and theft by taking, two each burglary, speeding auto, threatening/harassing calls and attempt to serve warrant.
Also, one each courtesy ride, hit and run, mechanical break down, fire alarm, chase in progress, pick up prisoner/subject, miscellaneous ems, seizure, assault, deliver emergency message, vandalism of property, checking location, argument, sick and 911 hang up.
