MS Cougars Fall in Opener

Piedmont Academy’s Middle School football team opened the new season with a loss to visiting Covenant Academy last Thursday.

The Middle School Cougars have fewer numbers in the program this season, which will be a concern throughout the remaining games.

“Covenant only had seventh and eighth grade players while we have several sixth graders on our roster,” coach Jeff Kent said. “Our goal is to stay healthy.”

Piedmont will travel to Central Fellowship today, Sept. 12, for a 5 p.m. contest.

Team members include eighth graders Jackson Waddleton, Mitch Marsh, Talon Anglin and Dalton Whitley. Seventh grade players include Connor Olson, Dylan Coe, Caden Clark, Gage Wilborn, Kade Mitcham, and J.T. Webb. Sixth grade players for the 2013 season are Hagan Hinson, Owen Brady, Caleb Coffee, and Payton Wallace.
